The City of Victoria is seeking jurors to assess submissions for the Ship Point Pop-Up Design Competition. The goal of this competition is to temporarily transform Ship Point Plaza, an underutilized paved plaza space along Victoria’s downtown waterfront, into a magnetic, creative and social ‘pop-up’ public space during the 2016 summer season. Adjudication will take place between May 18 – June 1. The applications will be assessed online, and an in-person jury selection meeting will be held at Victoria City Hall on May 27th.
Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria: social interaction and connection, aesthetics and originality, function and context, sustainability and feasibility. The City of Victoria will provide the guidelines to all jury members in advance of the selection meeting. Additional information and the competition brief can be found on the competition website.
If interested, please submit your name, bio and CV/Resume by email to engage@victoria.ca before April 15, 2016. Only applicants selected to participate as jurors will be contacted.
