Retired Architects AIBC are persons who have resigned their memberships in good standing with the Institute and for personal reasons of health or age and who have subsequently been admitted as Retired Architect by Council.
If you would like to resign or retire, you may review your options in Bulletin 5: Resignation of Registration (PDF). In order to proceed with your resignation, please send a notice in writing to the Registration & Licensing Department staff at email@example.com. Please note that there is not a retired status for architectural technologists or intern architects.
Recognition of Long-Standing Registration
Council is pleased to introduce a program that recognizes long-standing registrants for their ongoing commitment to the AIBC. Retired Architects AIBC with a cumulative, combined 40 years of registration (as an Architect AIBC and Retired Architect AIBC) will be eligible to have their renewal waived on an annual basis.
The following conditions are required in order to be recognized for long-standing registration:
- Formerly registered as an Architect AIBC
- Currently registered as a Retired Architect AIBC
- Annual confirmation of retired status, contact information, and interest in maintaining association with the AIBC
- Cumulative 40 years of registration as Architect AIBC and Retired Architect AIBC
