The 2024 Oral Review Schedule is now available for Intern Architects AIBC and Broadly Experienced Applicant (BEA) candidates on the AIBC website.
The AIBC will continue to deliver the Oral Exams both virtually and in-person. Those interested in taking the Oral Exam are required to submit an application form (PDF) between the specified registration period for each round. Following the application close date, AIBC staff will contact you to confirm your eligibility and assigned Oral Exam date/time.
Winter Oral Exam (Virtual)
- Oral Exam Dates: March 25–April 30
- Application Open Date: January 31
- Application Close Date: February 16
- Experience Hours Due: February 16
Spring Oral Exam Dates (In-Person)
- Oral Exam Dates: June 17–July 12
- Application Open Date: April 22
- Application Close Date: May 10
- Experience Hours Due: May 10
Fall Oral Exam Dates (Virtual)
- Oral Exam Dates: October 1–31
- Application Open Date: August 5
- Application Close Date: August 23
- Experience Hours Due: August 23
Oral Exam Resources and Preparation Workshops
The Oral Exam Candidate Guidebook (PDF) helps applicants determine whether they are eligible to take the Oral Exam, as well as how to apply, prepare, and take the exam. Candidates are encouraged to review the Guidebook thoroughly.
Complimentary Oral Exam Preparation Workshops are also offered by the AIBC before each round of Oral Exams. Attendance is highly recommended for all Intern Architects AIBC and BEA candidates, and Supervising Architects and Mentors of intern architects are also welcome. Candidates will be emailed directly with specific dates, registration details, and additional information.
