AIBC Governance Session

The AIBC Governance Session provides Registrants with an overview of the Institute’s governance, the role of the regulator, and fiduciary responsibilities. The session is designed for those interested in putting their name forward for the AIBC Board in 2024 or future years, as well as current AIBC volunteers. Please note that attendance is mandatory for Board nominees, including Registrant Board Members seeking re-election, to be eligible for nomination by the Nomination Committee.
Presented by Kathy McLaughlin, governance specialist and Principal of McLaughlin & Associates, and Thomas Lutes, Deputy CEO and General Counsel at the AIBC, the Governance Session covers many important topics that are helpful and necessary for volunteers as well as prospective Board Members, including:
- Policy governance
- Fiduciary duties
- Role of the regulator
A live online session will be hosted on February 22, 2024, from 12 to 2 p.m. via Zoom. If you are unable to attend the live session, there will be an opportunity to view the recording on March 1 and participate in a live Q&A.
