For applicants who are Intern Architects AIBC in good standing, have paid their annual renewal fee, have completed the requirements of the Internship in Architecture Program (IAP) and are applying for registration as an Architect AIBC. Any outstanding fees must also be paid prior to an application being accepted and approved.

Individuals who are registering through Mutual Recognition Agreements/Alternative Qualifications

When the applicant is applying for registration as an Architect under the terms of the following agreements:

• Canadian Reciprocity Agreement;
• Canada-US Mutual Recognition Agreement;
• APEC Architect Mutual Recognition Agreement with Australia and New Zealand; or
• Tri-National Agreement with Mexico.

Or when the applicant has completed one of the following programs:

• Broadly Experienced Applicant (BEA) Program; or
• Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA) Program.
