Signature Events & Programs

Each year the AIBC hosts events and programs for members and other registrants, as well as the public.

Induction & Retirement Ceremony: welcomes new members and commends those who are retiring.

Conference and PD Day: these two AIBC professional development events bring together architects, intern architects, architectural technologists, retired architects, and other members of the community to learn about new industry trends, technological advances and best practices. They are biennial events, with the AIBC Conference taking place on CES deadline years. In 2022, the AIBC retired Confab and rebranded the event to “PD Day” to be more representative of the professional development-focused nature of the event. PD Day takes places virtually on odd-numbered years, with AIBC Conference coinciding with the CES deadline on even-numbered years, in-person.

Recognition Program: through its Professional Service Awards and Volunteer Service Awards the AIBC recognizes volunteers and other individuals who have made positive impacts in the profession of architecture or at the Institute.

Architectural Walking Tours: through its public summer walking tour program, the AIBC offers stunning architectural perspectives of three Victoria and six Vancouver neighbourhoods.

Architecture Centre Gallery: showcases a wide variety of exhibits throughout the year. Admission to the gallery is free and open to all.

Scholarship & Bursary Program : The AIBC supports Intern Architects AIBC and students pursuing a career as an architect or architectural technologist by providing a selection of scholarships and bursaries.
