An architect registered with the AIBC may apply for a seal. An architect may apply a seal if they are a member of the Institute holding a current certificate of practice; as a sole proprietor or partner of an architectural firm; or on behalf of an architectural corporation as a continuing employee or shareholder of the corporation.
An architect’s seal is a representation to the public that the architect who applied it not only takes responsibility for the document, but that the document was prepared by that architect or under his or her direct supervision, direction or control.
