Retired Architects AIBC are former architects who have resigned their registration as architects in good standing.
Retired Architects are associates of the AIBC and have the right to use the designation Retired Architect AIBC after their names. Retired Architects AIBC maintain a valuable association with the AIBC by way of receiving all AIBC regular mailings and are generally eligible to volunteer on AIBC committees. They may also serve as mentors for intern architects and sit as a panelist for the Oral Review.
As associates of the AIBC, Retired Architects AIBC are required to comply with the Architects Act, AIBC Bylaws and the AIBC’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. To review the specific rights and responsibilities for associates, see Registration Types: Associates.
Please note that there is not a retired status for architectural technologists or intern architects.
