Regional chapters are established and governed in accordance with AIBC Bylaws and Council Rules.
Chapters can offer a local forum for networking. Outside of the Lower Mainland, chapters can also provide continuing education opportunities. While functioning at an arm’s length from the Institute, all chapters are expected to conform to AIBC regulation.

The AIBC Vancouver Island Chapter, established in the 1960’s, covers Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. It is run by volunteers, with elections for two-year executive positions scheduled every spring. The driving force behind the VI Chapter is a common interest in architecture, and a desire to share this interest in a social and educational setting.
From September to May, the VI Chapter hosts a busy calendar of events open to all Chapter members including AIBC Continuing Education System (CES) participants who earn Learning Units. The VI Chapter also liaises with other organizations in the built environment with an aim to create cross-industry networking opportunities and to avoid scheduling conflicts.
There are no membership fees however, the chapter charges admission for presentations.
Contact the VI Chapter and sign up to receive information on event and registration details.
