Announcing AIBC Confab 2019! Call for Submissions Now Open
We are excited to announce a new one-day professional development event – AIBC Confab 2019! Focused around interactive workshops, panel discussions, and seminars, the event aims to promote conversation and a shared learning experience. We invite submissions from those interested in speaking or facilitating workshops. AIBC Confab 2019 will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre on May 7, 2019. Read more.

Proposed Suite of Council and Institute Governance Bylaws
The Bylaw Review Committee, supported by AIBC Council, is now consulting with members on a suite of bylaws related to Council and Institute Governance. The suite is organized into five categories: Seal; Officers and Council; Boards, Task Forces and Committees; Remuneration and Expenses; and Nominations and Elections. Consultation for the proposed suite will run until November 2, 2018, with an in-person and online Consultation Session being held on October 22. Register and read more.

President's Message | AIBC 2019–2023 Strategic Plan Update
I hope everyone enjoyed the summer, and had an opportunity to rest and recharge. AIBC Council and staff have been busy with particular focus on drafting our next five-year Strategic Plan. I am pleased to share that the draft 2019–2023 Strategic Plan is now available for members and other registrants to review. We are seeking comments until October 12, 2018. Read more. |

2018 Annual Firm Information Update
The AIBC issues an annual reminder to keep firm information current and help maintain the integrity of the AIBC Register. This information is also used to issue annual fee invoices. Additionally, an online directory of architectural firms is available to the public. The deadline for completing this important regulatory requirement is October 31, 2018. Read more. |

Register for the 2018 Fall Professional Development Series!
We are pleased to announce that the 2018 Fall Professional Development (PD) Series is back, beginning on October 10, 2018. This monthly PD Series is presented in a convenient lunch and learn format, offering participants an informative and engaging way to earn Core Learning Units. Building off of the success and feedback from last year, the focus of the 2018 Fall PD Series will be the design of high performance buildings using energy modelling. Register and read more. |
