AIBC 20242028 Strategic Plan Now Available

After an extensive multi-stage development process that included an environmental scan and calls for feedback, the AIBC’s 2024–2028 Strategic Plan is now available. The plan includes a revised and refreshed mandate, vision, values, and goals. Registrants are encouraged to review the entire plan, which includes a chart of strategies. Read more.

Annual Renewal of Registration Deadline: February 1

The 2024 Annual Renewal of Registration deadline is February 1, 2024. As of today, less than half of all Registrants have submitted payments. Those eligible to apply for a waiver of their annual fees must submit their applications by January 15, 2024. Read more.

Only Six Months Left until the June 30 CES Deadline

There are only six months left until the Continuing Education System deadline of June 30, 2024. CES Participants must earn and report 36 Learning Units, of which at least 16 LUs must be Core, including two Core LUs dedicated towards the new Indigenous Peoples Learning requirement. Read more.

2024 Board Nominations Open February 7

The 2024 Call for Board Nominees is opening soon! This year, four positions are up for election. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the next chapter of regulation for the architectural profession in British Columbia. If you are interested in shaping the work of the AIBC and contributing your expertise and knowledge, we encourage you to join the Board. Read more.

  • The District of Oak Bay is seeking an Architect to serve on their Advisory Design Panel. Learn more about the opportunity.
  • The Office of the Superintendent of Professional Governance and the regulatory bodies under the PGA have developed supporting materials for Registrants to better understand PGA section 103 (No Reprisals).

  • The 2024 Oral Exam Schedule will be published on the AIBC website in the coming weeks.
  • Reminder than the ARE results will only be accepted until January 31, 2024 as part of the initial application for Architect AIBC registration.
