What You Need to Know Before the PGA Transition

It is anticipated that the AIBC will be transitioning legislation from the Architects Act to the Professional Governance Act (PGA) by early February 2023. Here’s what architects and other registrants need to know before the transition date. Read more.

Excerpt from the Draft Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct Now Available

The PGA requires all regulators to include 12 specific ethical principles in their Code of Ethics. An excerpt of the Code of Ethics specific to the 12 PGA principles, including draft commentary, is now available for review. Read more.

Get Involved! Volunteer Program Changes and New Opportunities Available

The AIBC Volunteer Program is changing to comply with PGA requirements and implement overall improvements. Volunteers play a critical role in advancing the Institute’s public-interest mandate, and there are now several new ways for registrants and the public to get involved. Read more.

2023 Annual Renewal of Registration Deadline: Feb. 1

The 2023 Annual Renewal of Registration deadline is February 1, 2023. As of today, nearly half of all registrants have submitted payments. Those eligible to apply for a waiver of their annual fees must submit their applications by January 15, 2023. Read more.

  • The next suite of draft PGA bylaws (Complaints, Investigations, and Discipline) will be shared next week.
  • The AIBC is recruiting both registrant and lay members for statutory committees. Learn more about the opportunities on aibc.ca.
  • AIBC is a lead supporting organization of BUILDEX 2023, which is taking place on February 15 and 16. Learning opportunities are available, and AIBC registrants are eligible to receive a discount.
