The AIBC has been adapting all four of the mandatory courses to an online and on-demand platform, and released the first course, Architects and the Law, in the summer of 2022. We are delighted to announce that the next online course is now available: Construction Administration.
Registrants can access and register for Construction Administration through the Online Course Portal. Please note that you will be required to create an account if this is the first time you are registering for an online course.
Construction Administration Overview and Important Course Information
Construction Administration provides an overview of the role and responsibilities of the architect in providing construction administration services, and describes the key principles underlying construction administration activities and how to implement them on a project. This online course features activity-based learning strategies, and involves the same level of engagement as in-person offerings.
IMPORTANT: Construction Administration includes a hard copy book of An Architect’s Guide to Construction. After purchasing the course, you will be contacted by the AIBC to coordinate pick-up or delivery of this required material.
AIBC Online Courses: Next Steps
The AIBC’s online courses are being launched in a phased approach, with BC Building Code slated to be the next course open for registration. The Ethics, Act and Bylaws course will be the final mandatory course available for online and on demand access, although it will not be released until after the AIBC has transitioned to the Professional Governance Act.
To learn more about the online courses, including course access, cancellation and registration policies, please visit the AIBC Courses webpage. If you have any additional questions about the new online courses or the new portal, please review the AIBC Courses webpage or email professionaldevelopment@aibc.ca.
