2023 Firm Update Deadline: September 30

The 2023 Firm Update has begun, and the deadline for completing this important regulatory requirement is September 30, 2023. All architectural firms registered with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia are required to submit a firm update. Read more.

Call for Submissions Now Open for Conference 2024!

The 2024 AIBC Conference Call for Submissions is now open! The AIBC is delighted to announce that this year’s theme is “Act” – a variety of presentation formats are sought, including lectures, panel discussions and workshops. The deadline to submit a speaker proposal is October 16, 2023. Read more.

Upcoming Webinar: New City of Vancouver Rainwater Management Requirements for Part 3 Buildings

The AIBC is pleased to offer a complimentary webinar on October 11, which will be presented by the City of Vancouver. The webinar will cover upcoming policy changes to on-site rainwater management, and is specifically relevant to architects. Read more.

AIBC Happenings

  • The upcoming CES deadline is June 30, 2024. CES Participants have less than 10 months to earn and report 36 Learning Units, including two Core LUs dedicated towards Indigenous Peoples Learning.
  • There are many volunteer opportunities available with the AIBC, including with Municipal Advisory Design Panels and the Conference Professional Development Advisory Group. View open opportunities on the volunteers webpage.

Intern Architect Happenings

  • New courses on the Building Code and Ethics & Professional Standards will be added to the AIBC’s Online Course Portal in the coming months. Further information on registration will be posted on the AIBC website when available.
