AIBC One Week Left to Register for the 101st Annual Meeting
Registration for the 101st Annual Meeting will close on August 13, 2020 – those who are interested in attending must register online. The week of August 17, all registered attendees will receive a confirmation email that will include a link to join the meeting. The meeting is taking place virtually on August 20 at 9 a.m. Read more.
AIBC President’s Message | Important Announcement from the Government of B.C. Regarding Professional Regulation
This message is to inform you about the letter from the B.C. Government regarding the AIBC and the Professional Governance Act (PGA). Specifically, the letter announces the AIBC will move from the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training to the Ministry of the Attorney General, with an eventual transition to the PGA. AIBC New Volunteer Opportunities – Municipal Advisory Design Panels and AIBC Design Panel Committee
The AIBC is looking for volunteers to serve on Municipal Advisory Design Panels or the AIBC Design Panel Committee. If you are interested in getting more involved with your community or helping shape the projects and policies affecting the built environment, we encourage you to apply. Read more.
AIBC Changes to the National Internship in Architecture Program Manual
The national Canadian Architectural Licensing Authorities Internship in Architecture Program Manual was revised, effective July 1, 2020. The key change is to allow Recognized Students to log up to 760 experience hours pre-graduation towards the IAP, as long as those hours satisfy the other requirements of the program. Read more.
AIBC Cancellation of Remaining 2020 IAP Courses
Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the remaining AIBC courses scheduled for 2020 have been cancelled. Recognizing that the cancellation may impact individuals nearing the end of their registration process, we have two announcements to share regarding online courses and a temporary relaxation of registration requirements.   • The July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2020 CES reporting period deadline is extended until Sept. 30, 2020, as a result of COVID-19.
