Annual Renewal Cycle Update

The Annual Renewal cycle is currently underway, with the Firm Update being completed on September 30, and Fee Billing coming up in a few weeks. There are several updates and reminders for Registrants regarding the Annual Renewal. Read more.

Last Chance to Register for the 2024 Certified Professional and Advanced Code Knowledge Courses

There are only a few seats remaining for the 2024 Certified Professional Course and the Advanced Code Knowledge Course. The courses are based on the new 2023 BC Building Code, which is expected to be implemented in December 2023, and the 2019 Vancouver Building By-law. Read more.

Mandatory CES for Intern Architects AIBC

Intern Architects AIBC are Continuing Education System (CES) Participants, and must earn and report 36 Learning Units, of which a minimum of 16 must be Core, by the upcoming CES Reporting Period deadline of June 30, 2024. Read more.

AIBC Volunteer Program Opportunities Available

The AIBC Volunteer Program supports Registrants and members of the public in furthering the mandate of the AIBC and the architectural profession in British Columbia. The AIBC is seeking individuals for several volunteer opportunities, including Oral Exam Panelists and the Conference PD Advisory Group. Read more.

AIBC Happenings

  • A Consultation Session regarding proposed amendments to the 'project takeover' Professional Standards will be taking place on December 5. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.
  • The Fall 2023 Certified Professional Update Seminar is taking place on December 7. Registration will open on November 3.
  • Reminder that it is anticipated that the updated BC Building Code will be implemented in December 2023.

  • Reminder: ARE results will only be accepted until January 31, 2024 as part of the initial application for Architect AIBC registration.
  • Intern Architects AIBC are CES Participants, and must earn and report 36 Learning Units by the June 30, 2024 deadline.
