Adaptable Dwelling Units Course Registration Now Open

Registration for the BCBC Adaptable Dwelling Units Course is now open. Presented in partnership with Building Safety Standards Branch, the course will take place virtually on September 11. The session will review the upcoming changes to Subsection 3.8.5. of the BCBC, to be implemented March 10, 2025, requiring ‘adaptable dwelling units’ in new housing. Read more.

AIBC Register Update

The AIBC Register is an online directory listing all AIBC-registered Architects, Architectural Technologists, Intern Architects, Retired Architects, and Firm Registrants. The AIBC has been working on updating the Register to meet PGA requirements. Over the coming weeks, registrants will see additional information and functionality added to the AIBC Register. Serve on a Municipal Advisory Design Panel

The AIBC invites Architects AIBC to submit an application to serve on a municipal advisory design panel. This is a great opportunity to get involved with your community and help shape the projects and policies affecting the built environment in British Columbia. In this role, Architects provide insight and feedback on design, urban planning, and zoning matters. Read more.

  • The application period for the Fall 2024 Oral Exam opens next week, on August 5. Experience hours for eligibility must be submitted on or before the application deadline date of August 23. Refer to the Oral Exam Candidate Guidebook for more information.
