Municipal Advisory Design Panel Opportunities

Architects AIBC are invited to submit an application to serve on a municipal
advisory design panel. The AIBC provides architect-member nominations to more than 25 ADPs in British Columbia and is seeking new volunteers to serve on these panels. Read more.

AIBC Board Approved Contract: CCDC 33-2026

In April 2026, CCDC 33-2026 Progressive Design-Build Service Contract Between Design-Builder and Consultant (“CCDC 33-2026”) became an AIBC Board approved contract. Read more.

Updated AIBC Practice Guidelines

The AIBC is undertaking a phased review and update of its Practice Guidelines to ensure they are current and aligned with the AIBC Bylaws, Professional Governance Act, and Architects Regulation. Several Practice Guidelines have already been revised. Read more.

AIBC Volunteer Program

The AIBC Volunteer Program offers opportunities for Registrants and the public to advance the Institute’s mandate by contributing their expertise and knowledge. The Program supports a range of regulatory initiatives – all current volunteer openings are posted on the website. Read more.

AIBC Happenings

  • The 2026 Firm Update is coming up – further information will be shared with Registrants later this month.
  • The AIBC is pleased to welcome the City of Maple Ridge as the newest participating municipality in the CP Program.
  • A scheduled power outage is taking place on August 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., which will impact the AIBC Offices. Please note that during this time, there will be interruptions to services.

Intern Architect Happenings

  • The application period for the Fall 2026 Oral Exam is now open. Experience hours for eligibility must be submitted on or before the application deadline date of August 14. Refer to the Oral Exam Candidate Guidebook for more information.
