In April 2026, CCDC 33-2026 Progressive Design-Build Service Contract Between Design-Builder and Consultant (“CCDC 33”) became an AIBC Board approved contract.
CCDC 33 is a standard contract between design builder and consultant to perform professional services required under a progressive design build contract between owner and design builder.
Under Professional Standard 5.1 and 5.2 in Schedule A: Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct of the AIBC Bylaws, Registrants are required to have an executed, written agreement in place prior to commencing work for a Client. This architectural services contract must be a standard form contract approved by the AIBC Board, or be based upon, and generally consistent with, a standard contract in relation to the services, responsibilities, and general conditions.
The AIBC has also updated the Practice Guideline: Standard Form Contracts (PDF) to include CCDC 33. Additional minor amendments were made to the Practice Guideline, including to terminology and bylaw references.
