	2020 Annual Renewal of Registration During the week of November 18, 2019, AIBC registrants were sent invoices for the 2020 Annual Renewal of Registration. AIBC Council has approved a nominal one percent increase in annual renewal fees for AIBC architects, associates, firms, and temporary licensees. The deadline for annual renewal of registration is February 1, 2020. Read more.
	New Discipline Notice & Illegal Practice Notice Announcement Please be advised that the AIBC has retitled “GreenSheet” to “Discipline Notice”. The content and purpose of the Notice stays the same – to share recent findings and admissions of unprofessional conduct by AIBC registrants. In addition, an “Illegal Practice Notice” is being introduced. Read more.
	Regulatory Review \| Don't Let Your Seal Enable Illegal Practice Recently, the AIBC has received increased correspondence regarding attempts to circumvent the requirements of the Architects Act, whereby designers or unregistered persons attempt to legitimize their illegal practice of architecture by requesting architects to seal their work. This Regulatory Review will provide an actual example of this type of request and illustrate the appropriate response and course of action to take if approached with a similar proposal. Read more.
	2020 AIBC Courses Open for Registration On November 14, the 2020 course schedule was made available for viewing and registration on the AIBC website. Spots fill up quickly – registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please ensure you carefully review the updated AIBC Course Policy to avoid incurring any penalties or fees. Read more.
	Report Makes Recommendations for Regulatory Framework for Health Profession in B.C. In November 2019, the Steering Committee on Modernization of Health Professional Regulation – a cross-party government committee – published a report titled “Modernizing the provincial health profession regulatory framework: A paper for consultation”. Five “modernization proposals” for the regulation of health professions in B.C. were recommended. Read more.


AIBC 100

	Discover the 1980s on AIBC 100 You can now explore the 1980s on AIBC 100! This decade is filled with milestones for the profession and architectural community in B.C., from the signing of professional agreements to a special home in Victoria receiving heritage designation. Fast Fact: In 1980, 1,135 registrants were on the AIBC Register. 811 of them were architects, and 165 “Architects-in-Training”.
