Less than 1 Month Left until the CES Deadline of June 30, Indigenous Peoples Learning Requirement in Effect

The CES reporting period deadline is June 30, 2024. There is less than one month left to earn and report a total of 36 Learning Units, of which at least 16 must be Core. In addition, at least two Core Learning Units must be related to Indigenous history, Truth and Reconciliation, and/or engagement. Read more.

AIBC Summer Professional Development Series: Only Two
Sessions Remaining

There are two sessions remaining for the AIBC’s Summer PD Series, taking place on June 13 and 18. This is a convenient and efficient way to earn Core Learning Units before the CES deadline of June 30, 2024. Read more.

AIBC Volunteer Program Opportunities Available

The AIBC Volunteer Program supports Registrants and members of the public in furthering the mandate of the AIBC and the architectural profession in British Columbia. The AIBC is seeking individuals for several volunteer opportunities, including the Investigation Committee, Oral Examiners, and the Qualifications Advisory Group. Read more.

BC Building Code 2024: Adaptable Dwelling Units Transition Period

The 2024 BC Building Code came into effect on March 8, 2024, except for adaptable dwellings and earthquake design changes, which come into effect on March 10, 2025. The government has issued a Bulletin and an FAQ document on the adaptable dwelling units transition period. Read more.

    Registrants.

Intern Architect Happenings

  • The registration period for the 2024 Examination for Architects in Canada (ExAC) is now open, and closes on July 12, 2024 at 12 p.m. The deadline for experience submissions is June 28, 2024.
