2026–2027 AIBC Board and Board Officers

The AIBC is pleased to announce the 2026–2027 Board and Board Officers. The Board is comprised of 12 members, including seven elected Registrant Board Members, four appointed Lay Board Members, and the Immediate Past Board Chair. Read more.

Upcoming Changes to AIBC Registrant Portal

As part of the AIBC’s ongoing security efforts, enhanced login requirements are coming to the Registrant Portal. Effective July 9, 2026, Registrants will be prompted to reset their password the next time they log in. No action is required at this time. An email with instructions will be sent on July 9. AIBC Continuing Education System Reporting Period

The 2024–2026 CES reporting period concluded on June 30, with the new cycle beginning on July 1. Thank you to all CES Participants who completed this mandatory regulatory requirement. Under the PGA, non-compliance with CES is addressed as an administrative matter, rather than as a professional conduct complaint. Read more.

AIBC Happenings
  • Thomas Lutes, the AIBC's Chief Regulatory Officer and General Counsel, has decided to resign from the Institute effective at the end of September 2026. The AIBC extends its sincere gratitude and thanks for his dedication and leadership. He will be greatly missed, and we wish him continued success ahead.
  • The draft minutes of the 107th Annual General Meeting are now available.
  • Congratulations to the successful 2026 Certified Professional (CP) candidates.
  • The AIBC is seeking proposals for future PD events focused on the use of artificial intelligence in architecture. Proposals can be submitted through the AIBC's General Call for Submissions.

  • Reminder that the registration period for the 2026 Examination for Architects in Canada (ExAC) closes on July 10, 2026 at 12 p.m.
