The National Research Council of Canada and Building Knowledge Canada are working on a research project to assess the Canadian Part 9 residential construction industry’s current capacity to undertake embodied greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions assessments, including:
- Product stage assessments (A1–A3)
- Upfront carbon assessments (A1–A5)
- Whole building life cycle assessment (wbLCA)
They are seeking participants who have some familiarity with embodied GHG emission assessments for residential construction projects.
The findings will be reported to the National Research Council to support recommendations for workforce development, industry readiness, and economic impact assessments across Canadian provinces and territories, and to inform the development of the 2030 Model National Building Code.
Deadline to participate: July 17
