2026–2027 AIBC Board and Board Officers

June 30, 2026

The Institute is pleased to announce the 2026–2027 AIBC Board and Board Officers.

As a reminder, under the Professional Governance Act, there are seven elected Registrant Board Members, four appointed Lay (public) Board Members, and a non-voting Immediate Past Board Chair. Registrant Board Member terms are three years, and under the Bylaws, the Board Chair and Board Vice Chair terms are two years. The Treasurer term is one year, as per Board Policy.

The current Chair (Sean Rodrigues) and Vice Chair (Matthew Halverson) were elected to these officer positions in 2025 for two-year terms and therefore no election is required for these officer positions.

2026–2027 AIBC Board and Board Officers

  • Board Vice Chair: Matthew Halverson Architect AIBC
  • Treasurer: Manoochehr Azizi Architect AIBC

  • Manoochehr Azizi Architect AIBC
  • Andy Guiry Architect AIBC
  • Marguerite Laquinte Francis* Architect AIBC

Registrant Board Members Elected in 2026 (Three Years Terms):

  • Justin Gammon Architect AIBC
  • Matthew Halverson Architect AIBC
  • James Huemoeller Architect AIBC
  • Sean Rodrigues Architect AIBC

Lay Board Members:

  • John Crawford (reappointed February 2026)
  • Lara Gregurić (reappointed June 2026)
  • Michael Racich (reappointed February 2026)
  • Laura Wilson (reappointed February 2026)

Immediate Past Board Chair* (Non-voting):

  • Stuart Rothnie Architect AIBC

* Under Section 23(2)c of the Professional Governance Act, the Immediate Past Board Chair (IPBC) is a non-voting Board Member. This means that someone cannot be both the IPBC (a non-voting Board Member) and a Registrant Board Member (a voting Board Member) at the same time. To avoid taking away voting rights from an elected Registrant Board Member, they retain their voting rights until their elected term ends.  For 2026–2027, this means Stuart Rothnie Architect AIBC will continue serving as the IPBC, even though Marguerite Laquinte Francis completed her term as Board Chair and is next in line for the position, as she is still serving out her elected Board Member term.
