AIBC Vancouver Island Chapter – Construction Lessons from a Post-Boom Economy Functioning in a COVID World
Two speakers will provide professional perspectives on the changes experienced in the Victoria development and construction marketplace since February of this year. Rory Kulmala, CEO of the Vancouver Island Construction Association and Lorne Mack, Architect AIBC, Director Project Management Services, Facilities Management, University of Victoria will each describe the effects of going from a local boom construction economy to one faced with great uncertainty in March to now, several months later into the pandemic. Rory will describe the challenges and opportunities faced by VICA’s membership while Lorne will provide a recently completed project as a case study. The relevance to AIBC members and interns is sure to provide a lot of discussion.
