AIBC Vancouver Island Chapter – Housing and Homelessness in Greater Victoria Part II: The Design Challenge
The February event for the AIBC VI Chapter was held as a first of two sessions covering the topic of homelessness and housing in Victoria. Whereas the first session can be characterized as a panel of individuals from diverse agencies and backgrounds who are more frontline in dealing with the issue from the standpoint of policy and social agency, the second event aims to cover the issues of design for those experiencing homelessness/lack of affordability with a more detailed and architectural design focus. The panel, comprised of experienced and well regarded architectural professionals from the Victoria and Vancouver architectural communities, will respond to a series of questions and share illustrated examples from both their experience as well personally chosen relevant projects. Moderated by local architect Terry Williams, the discussion is certain to cover important topics and ideas that the audience will be sure to find stimulating and inspiring. The discussion will be followed by a Q+A.
