Annual Meeting & Council Elections

Annual Meeting Learning Units
Architects and Architectural Technologists who attend the AIBC Annual Meeting are entitled to two non-core learning units. To assist in recording these learning units, it is asked that Architects and Architectural Technologists register online in advance for this free event.

Nominations, Candidates & Candidate Forms
Nominations are now being invited for the 2015/2016 AIBC Council. This is your opportunity to help shape the work of the body responsible for the self-regulating governance of the architectural profession in British Columbia in the public interest.

Nominations are open in the following categories:

All signed Call for Nominations Forms, Nominee Declaration Forms, and Nominee Statement Forms must be received by the AIBC time stamped before 4:30 p.m.on Wednesday, March 18 2015.

Forms may be submitted in hard copy to the Architectural Institute of British Columbia, 100 – 440 Cambie Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 2N5 or, scanned forms may be submitted by email to nominations@aibc.ca (facsimile signatures are not acceptable).

To enhance voting members’ ability to compare candidates, nominees must fully complete and submit the Nominee Statement Form. You can access the blank Council Member Nominee Statement Form or Intern Architect Liaison to Council Nominee Statement Form.

Annual Meeting & Election Booklets
The Annual Meeting Booklet and Election Booklets will be mailed out Thursday, April 9, 2015 to all AIBC members and honorary members in keeping with Architects Act and bylaw requirements. Documents will be posted online the week of April 7, 2015 and available below under the heading “Annual Meeting Material.”

Call for Council Election Scrutineers
One of the highlights of the annual meeting is the election of members to the governing council for the AIBC.  Ballot counting takes place during the annual meeting, commencing shortly after the meeting is called to order. Ballot counting is done by scrutineers in accordance with AIBC Bylaw 24 as well as the Council Election Balloting Procedures established by AIBC Council.

The call for AIBC Council election scrutineers will be announced the week of April 7, 2015.

Members’ Forum, Motions & Motions Review Committee
Members’ Forum Protocols and Motions Review Committee Terms of Reference will be posted end of March 2015.
