BC Building Code I

This course covers the intent of the building code, an architect’s responsibilities regarding the code, and the use of the code as a design tool in an architect’s practice. It is relevant for architects, technologists, building officials and other industry participants.
At this course, you will review:
A summary of the current BC Building Code; factors used to determine the design and construction requirements of a building; construction requirements and structural fire resistance rating; major occupancies and suite separations; firefighting considerations; requirements for fire separations, closures and egress.
