BC Wood – Specification of Sound Abatement Barriers
Road noise is a significant concern in many communities. Health Canada indicates that exposure to noise can have adverse effects on physical, mental, and social well-being. To mitigate this risk, the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has a policy for mitigating noise exposure in noise-sensitive land uses such as residential areas, schools, hospitals, and parks. This presentation will discuss the pros and cons of various noise barrier technologies with an emphasis on Pacific HemFir sound abatement barrier technology. Pacific HemFir sound abatement barriers are a made-in-BC technology with a proven performance track record.
