This presentation will help attendees gain an understanding of Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), and how the 2018 BCBC, 2019 VBBL and other standards impose requirements on the design, installation and testing of these systems and their components. We’ll explore when FAS are required, which standards are applied in various building types and occupancies, and the various alarm initiating devices that should be used in different cases. We’ll also review the installation, verification, and testing requirements for FAS.
