Fall PD Series | Towards an Architecture Policy for Canada: An Update on the Rise for Architecture Initiative

For the past few years, the Rise for Architecture Initiative has been gathering feedback and preparing recommendations on the future of the architectural profession and to encourage the development of an Architecture Policy for Canada. This session will provide an update on the initiative and outline a series of recommendations aimed at improving the quality of the built environment in Canada as well as responding to current challenges faced by the profession of architecture.

Presenter: Darryl Condon Architect AIBC, AAA, SAA, OAA, NLAA, AIA, FRAIC, LEED AP
Darryl is interested in design that acts as a catalyst for positive social change. As Managing Principal at hcma, his leadership has led to highly-innovative community centres, pools, recreation facilities, fire halls and libraries across Canada. After 30 years of creating engaging and effective public spaces, Darryl biggest design project is now transforming hcma to help solve the complex and interdependent challenges facing our communities.

Darryl is a registered Architect and a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. He is a Past-President of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia, a frequent speaker internationally and has been an adjunct professor at the UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
