JRS Engineering – BC Energy Step Code & Energy Modelling

The BC Energy Step Code came into effect in December 2017. Numerous municipalities have adopted the code and many others have shown interest and are studying it. The BC Energy Step Code outlines energy modelling as mandatory. This presentation introduces the Energy Step Code and its latest updates, explains its impact on building envelope, demonstrates how to use energy modelling to optimize the envelope design, and explains the procedures of energy modelling. The presentation is residential building focused with mixed use building type included.
