This course provides a concise overview of construction materials and methods for commercial and residential buildings, including high-rise towers. Emphasis is placed on key terminology and the economics of construction projects. Topics include planning and design, site preparation, foundations, superstructure, envelope systems, mechanical systems, and interior finishes. There is also brief treatment of construction supervision, quality control, environmental issues, and post-construction deficiencies.
