Light House Sustainable Building Centre – Deep Green Buildings Virtual World Tour: The Netherlands
We will tour HAUT, a 21-storey residential building that will be one of the tallest timber tower in the world. The innovative wooden high-rise construction and the energy-generating facades make HAUT a prototype of innovative, sustainable construction. The ground floor features HAUT’s Hortus, an urban winter garden open to the public.
We will also tour Groenmarkt, an energy neutral park-like living and working environment consisting of two detached buildings in the heart of Amsterdam. This is a stunning example of design-for-ageing-in-place, with a great variety of houses, where young and old can live easily next to each other, complete with rooftop gardens and an apple orchard.
Your tour guides will take you behind-the-scenes on these projects, as well as provide an overview of the drivers and barriers to deep green building in the Netherlands.
