RAIC – AI and Optimizing the Design Phase: Superhuman
From human-scale environments to hospitals, and megastructures, Generative AI is expanding how architects explore, test, and communicate design possibilities. This webinar introduces AI as a Creative Exploration Engine and examines how it can support architectural design without replacing professional judgment or creativity.
Through a curated series of projects across different scales, typologies, and design phases, the presenters will demonstrate how tools such as Gemini, Midjourney, D5 Render, and related platforms can be used for concept development, visual storytelling, client presentations, show-and-tells, and RFP submissions.
Participants will be introduced to practical prompting concepts, learn how to select the appropriate platform for a specific task, and explore how multiple tools can be combined into a coordinated workflow. The session will also address where Generative AI performs well, where its limitations remain, and what timelines architects can reasonably expect for AI-assisted deliverables.
Framed through complex systems thinking and human-centered design, the webinar will provide practical strategies for applying Generative AI critically, responsibly, and creatively in contemporary architectural practice.
