RAIC – PUCCS NC – Non Combustible Rainscreen EIFS
DuRock PUCCS and DuRock PUCCS NC Exterior Insulation Finish Systems are an integral part of the building envelope that separates the indoor environment from the outdoor environment. Whereas PUCCS is our long-standing EIFS with combustible polystyrene insulation, PUCCS NC is the first code-evaluated non-combustible EIFS with a liquid-applied water resistive barrier in Canada. This presentation will relate both systems to the applicable building code requirements regarding protection from precipitation, fire protection, air leakage control, condensation control, and thermal resistance. It furthermore relates those properties to sustainable, resilient, passive design. The presentation also includes highlights of an independent life cycle costing and thermal performance study that compares EIFS to alternative cladding systems.
