RAIC – RAIC National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Commemoration 2026 – UNDRIP Beyond Adoption: Personal Steps and Communal Journey
In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, this 90-minute session will explore the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP /UN Declaration) as a foundational framework for the architectural profession in Canada. Speakers will situate UNDRIP alongside key Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action relevant to the built environment and to professional practice; highlight the RAIC’s journey to date; and discuss ongoing work ahead.
Through personal perspectives and grounded examples, the session will invite participants to consider what implementing UNDRIP can look like in their own contexts – whether as individuals, within firms, or across institutions. The session will also point to concrete resources and next steps for continued learning and action beyond September 30th.
