RDH Building Science Laboratories – Durability and Wood in Buildings

This presentation will look at the durability of wood building products—inside and out. Using structural mass timber and wood cladding products as examples, we will delve into the building physics of wood to explore when and how biodeterioration happens. We’ll look at recent research as well as practical issues such as treatments and modifications, tools to assess and identify risk, and recommendations to ensure acceptable performance.
