Making Books Happen will give participants first-hand experience on how graphic designers see the world, and will help them develop a basic set of best practices for book design, publishing, and everything it encompasses. Participants will develop skills in working with typography, images and layouts, software, archival practices, and story-telling. Led by graphic designer Pablo Mandel and design and communications consultant Colette Parras, presentations will be paired with hands-on activities, and participants will create a mock-up of a publication featuring their own content.
Dates: May 2 – 3, 2020
