Understanding PST on Architectural Services

Effective October 1, 2026, the 7% Provincial Sales Tax (PST) will apply to certain professional services in British Columbia, including architectural services.
To help firms prepare for these changes, the AIBC is hosting an information session with representatives from the BC Ministry of Finance. This session will provide an overview of the new PST requirements, explain how the changes apply to architectural services, and offer attendees the opportunity to ask questions directly to BC Ministry of Finance representatives.
Topics will include general information about the new requirements, key definitions, exemptions and exclusions, transition rules, and information about registering for, collecting, and remitting PST.
