UNIQ Dimensions – Leveraging 3D LiDAR & Scan-to-BIM Workflows for Accurate As-Built Documentation
This session explores the transformative role of 3D LiDAR and Scan-to-BIM workflows in creating high-precision as-built documentation. Participants will examine the technical science of laser scanning, comparing the applications of mobile, terrestrial, and drone-based systems to determine project suitability. We will analyze the end-to-end data workflow—from raw point cloud capture and filtering to seamless integration within Revit BIM environments. By highlighting real-world case studies and technical considerations like reflective surfaces, the presentation demonstrates how digital replicas mitigate construction risks and reduce costly field changes. Including a live demo of importing the scan into Revit and drafting directly from the point cloud data.
