ZEBx – Building Tour: LJ Christmas Apartments – A Retrofit Worth Celebrating
On June 17, 2026, ZEBx is hosting a tour of the LJ Christmas Apartments retrofit in Coquitlam, a 134-unit, ten-storey seniors housing building undergoing a major retrofit while residents remain in place. The project is expected to reduce emissions by 95%, cut energy use by 60%, add cooling, ventilation, and 18 new suites, demonstrating the benefits of deep retrofits and building decarbonization. Participants will explore the technical aspects of the retrofit and discuss the importance of collaboration among construction teams, housing operators, and owners during tenant-occupied renovations.
