Our next tour brings together the two sides of the “gold standard” for new buildings—operational and embodied carbon reductions. This all-electric Burnaby home targets the top tiers of the Energy Step Code (Step 5) and Zero Carbon Step Code (EL4) while dramatically reducing embodied carbon through deconstruction and reuse of 40,000 pounds of reclaimed wood integrated into its prefabricated panels. It’s a showcase of innovation, circular design, and environmental stewardship.
