The Architectural Institute of British Columbia hosts two biennial professional development events: AIBC Conference and AIBC Confab.
AIBC Conference
The AIBC Conference brings together architects, intern architects, architectural technologists, builders, engineers, interior designers, faculty, students and other members of the design community to learn about new industry trends, technological advances and best practices. This annual gathering of architects, the largest of its kind in British Columbia, is also a chance to network, socialize and celebrate the innovations of practitioners and theorists. The conference runs over three days and includes a keynote presentation, plenary sessions, seminars, workshops, panel discussions and an industry exhibitor show.
AIBC Confab
Introduced in 2019, AIBC Confab is a new one-day professional development event which offers an interactive workshop, panel discussions, and seminars; all with the common goal of promoting conversation and a shared learning experience. Based on feedback, we are excited to offer this streamlined format. In combination with our Fall PD Series, REP Program, and other course offerings – AIBC Registrants now have a broader range of learning opportunities available throughout the year.
