The Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) issues an annual reminder to keep firm information current and help maintain the integrity of the AIBC register. This information is also used to issue annual fee invoices. Additionally, an online directory of architectural firms is available to the public.
The annual update is a requirement for all architectural firms, as prescribed in AIBC Bylaw 15.4 (PDF). In addition, Bylaw 34.5 (PDF), Council Rulings 34.5 (f) and (h) (PDF), require architects (and firms) to respond promptly to all AIBC communications requiring a response, and to provide accurate contact information. It is your firm’s professional responsibility to comply with these bylaws and rulings, if only to confirm that the information on record is correct. Failure to complete the annual firm update as requested may constitute a disciplinary violation.
Deadline
The deadline for completing this year’s update is October 13, 2017.
How-to Update Firm Information
Please update or confirm your firm’s information:
- Login to your firm’s online profile.
- Review your firm’s information and make any necessary corrections.
- Note: Remember to review the email addresses in both the “Address & Contact Information” and “Firm Administrator” sections, and update if necessary. The contact email found in the “Address & Contact Information” section is displayed on the online directory and available to the public. The Firm Administrator email is internal and used for AIBC correspondence, including annual renewal invoices and login instructions.
- Return to the Firm Update page, check off the boxes to verify each section is correct, and click “Confirm” at the bottom of the page.
Invoices
Any changes on firm size provided during this update will be used to issue annual fee invoices. Members can expect to receive their invoices during the week of November 20, 2017
New this Year
The Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) Bylaws supported by members and honorary members are now in effect. Compliance will be mandatory for the 2019 annual renewal cycle. In preparation, this year’s firm update includes several questions regarding PLI.
