#PROJECTURBANFABRIC Public Art At Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre

May 14, 2014

The British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects (BCSLA) has created a temporary art installation outside the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre in order to celebrate BCSLA’s 50 anniversary and welcome attendees of the 2014 BC Land Summit.

Volunteers have worked hard to design and create the temporary park outside the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre during the 2014 BC Land Summit on May 14 to 16. The goal of the public art installation is to demonstrate how landscape architects can change perspective and catch public attention. Mayor Gregor Robertson has proclaimed May 14, 2014 BC Land Summit Day.

The 2014 BC Land Summit – Collaborations & Connections – will be the first interdisciplinary conference organized by the new BC Land Summit Society (BCLSS). The first two BC Land Summit conferences (in 2004 and 2009) were organized by partnership of five professional organizations who all share ties to land and land-use in British Columbia and have agreed to combine their annual conferences into a joint professional development event.

The Landscape Architects temporary public art park will be available to see May 9 to 17 at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre. Check out the public art and use #projecturbanfabric in your photos on Twitter or Instagram. More…
