The AIBC invites its members to support intern architects on their path towards registration as an architect. On Monday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 3, 2015, AIBC Intern Architects will be writing the Examination for Architects in Canada (ExAC). The institute is seeking volunteers to act as exam invigilators for the administration of the ExAC.
This is a rewarding opportunity for architects, and other professionals, to support the next generation of architects. This Canadian and experience-based examination has been successful in increasing the rate of intern architects becoming registered. This increase has been especially true for long-standing intern architects. The ExAC is a critical component of the registration process, and supporting this is a means to contribute to the health and vitality of the profession.
Those interested in volunteering should be an Architect AIBC or hold a professional designation from another sector. Previous experience invigilating would be an asset but is not a requirement. Invigilators are able to volunteer for either or both days, and for either or both the morning (7 am – 11 am) or the afternoon sessions (noon – 4 pm).
The examination will take place at the Vancouver Convention Centre – East (under the sails) and in Victoria at the British Columbia Construction Association offices at 101 – 645 Tyee Road.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided and any travel and parking expenses will be reimbursed.
If you are interested in the opportunity, or have any questions, please respond by Thursday, October 22, 2015 to the AIBC Human Resources Coordinator, Yana Vassilenko at hr@aibc.ca
