Would you like to help shape the work of B.C.’s body responsible for the self-regulation of architecture in the public interest? We invite you to apply to join the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) Council as a Retired Architect Liaison to represent the perspective, interests and views of retired architects for the duration of the 2016-17 council term.
At governance committee meetings held on July 12 and September 1, 2016 the creation of a Retired Architect Liaison to Council position was recommended. The recommendation supports representation of the AIBC’s three associate categories—Retired Architect AIBC, Intern Architect AIBC and Architectural Technologist AIBC—as non-voting liaisons to council, in keeping with the composition of Council legislated by the Architects Act.
This recommendation resulted in a motion for the CEO to trigger the Expression of Interest process seeking submissions from interested Retired Architects AIBC for the liaison to council position, which was carried on September 13, 2016.
Council will select a retired architect liaison from among those who submit an Expression of Interest.
To apply, please review the call for expression of interest and expression of interest package. The expression of interest package contains the following:
- Retired Architect Liaison to Council Expression of Interest Form
- Declaration Form
- 2016-17 Schedule of Council Events
Following review of the abovementioned documents, please print, complete, sign and submit the Expression of Interest and Declaration Forms contained in the expression of interest package.
All signed forms must be received by the AIBC office time stamped before 4 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016. Forms may be submitted by surface mail to the attention of Mark Vernon, CEO, Architectural Institute of British Columbia, 100 – 440 Cambie Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 2N5 or, scanned forms may be submitted by email to mvernon@aibc.ca.
