At the September 28, 2016 council meeting, the AIBC Council dealt with the following items:
Bylaw Review
- Upon taking into consideration the feedback provided during the consultation period, council approved the proposed bylaws regarding associates and directed the CEO to trigger an electronic vote, in keeping with the Council Rules for E-Voting for Bylaw Amendments.
- E-voting is scheduled to open on October 24 and run until November 17. Results will be immediately communicated after the voting period ends.

Broadly Experienced Applicant Program (BEA)
- Further to a BEA presentation, council approved motions regarding eligibility and program requirements consistent and aligned with national standards; renewal and extension until November 9 of a BEA moratorium, during which time, updated BEA information will be made available online.
CALA
- Canadian Architectural Licensing Association (CALA) represents the eleven architectural regulators in Canada. Authority is granted via council approval of each individual provincial regulator. As such, AIBC Council approved feedback (provided by the AIBC Registration Board) and further development of the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) Terms and Conditions for Accreditation; CACB Board of Directors appointments of Simon Di Vincenzo OAA as CALA representative and Luke Andritsos OAA as joint representative of CALA /CCUSA (Canadian Council of University Schools of Architecture); and, the results of the CACB-CCCA Funding Review Task Force Report.
Other Business
- Motions were also passed for AIBC Council committee changes, examination results and register amendments as well as terms of reference.
