Opportunity to Collaborate with the Architectural Society of China

November 17, 2016

The Architectural Society of China (ASC) will hold a “2017 International Young Architect Workshop” in Shenzhen, China from January 14-20, 2017.

In order to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with architects in Canada, the ASC has invited the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) to canvass members for interest in attending the workshop. ASC is seeking one experienced architect to facilitate the workshop and two recently registered architects who are under 40 to take part in a design exercise with Chinese architects under 40.

During the workshop, the facilitator would be expected to report to the participants on the state of architecture education, examination, registration, practice and Canadian market conditions.

ASC will bear expenses incurred during the workshop. This includes accommodation, meals and transportation within Shenzhen. In addition, the facilitator will receive an honorarium of 3000CNY. Participants are expected to secure their own travel funds.

To apply, please submit your letter of interest , noting the role you would like to secure, by noon on December 2, 2016. Letters of interest can be submitted to CEO Mark Vernon at mvernon@aibc.ca. Successful candidates will be notified on December 5, 2016.

We apologize for the short notice and wish all who apply the best of luck!
